DEAF
MINISTRY
Several years ago, God spoke to
heart about learning sign language so I would be able to interpret for my niece
at church. Along with some other people, I took some classes and studied, but
mostly I prayed. I really felt this was what God wanted me to do. After only a
few weeks, my niece wanted me to interpret a service for her. She had a desire to
'hear' Gods word. Although I was not trained well enough, I told God that if
he would help me, I would do it . He did help me and the message touched her heart!
Well, he has been helping me ever since. That was nearly 20 years ago and God
has never failed me. He gave me a job in the school system working with
the deaf. It is a pleasure to go to work each day.
If you are deaf or know someone who is, we invite you to come to Kimberly
First Baptist. I am available for all services and really enjoy interpreting
music and the message of Gods word.
Love in Christ,
Sharon Jackson
